Time to head to Cache Creek BC for the Totem  rally.  Looks like it could be a heavy  snow year.

We’ve signed up for 2016! Not taking the frickin’ wagon, but the Volvo instead or something.

She makes a appearance at 6:50.  The local commentary is classic.  If you watch the whole 24 minutes, I believe you will hear some profanity.

Being part of this event was supposed to be bucket list thing. Registration is open for 2016. Trying to figure out a way to make it happen.

Waiting on the beach(?) for the start of Keels, there was a wee bit o’ wind coming in the harbor.

 

We have landed in Portland.  It is good to be home. 

Two words of advice:  Global entry.

10 planeloads of people queued at immigration in Chicago.  Our Nexus cards let us skip that and use the automated kiosks. Sailed through in 3 minutes.

The rally is a series of 40+ closed-road stages linked by transits on public roads.

The stages, together, add to around 400 km.

On those 400 km, I spent more than 50% of the time with the throttle wide open.

Wondering what the BMW’s on-board computer will say to the next service technician that reads it…

 

The two critical pieces of equipment were our intercoms (courtesy of LegitScript) and the supersize brakes on the car (from Roundel).

 

Uh-oh – the bunny caught me. This might be a stage where I still respected the ‘not-to-exceed’ limit.  Simon & Stewart were in the VW. Fabulous folks, fast and funny and indominable.

We are in Quebec City.  Not much English spoken here but we are managing.  Handing off the car tonight.  Tomorrow we fly home to Portland.
